What was the exact position you were working in? Indicate the three main responsibilities / activities of the job according with your time investment (%)

I was placed in L’Oréal Paris’ marketing department. I was responsible for planning upcoming events and campaigns, doing internal presentations and gathering data on competitors.

Describe a typical day in the job.

Arriving at 8.30am doing some independent work until we had a group meeting during the morning (usually 10am).I usually had lunch with my team in the office’s cafeteria from 1pm to 1.30/1.45pm. We usually had a meeting or some sort of brainstorming activity at 3pm. During the afternoon, I usually did some more independent work until it was time to go (7.30/8pm).

Was there any team spirit? Tell us a little bit about the corporate culture and your colleagues / superiors.

Team spirit was great. My superiors treated my colleagues and I as equals, asking for our opinion more than often. I definitely felt that I was working on a team: each of us had specific tasks to perform, but our worked usually overlapped with our colleagues’ work, in which we had to do a lot of planning together, discuss several ideas or ways of dealing with adversities. I really liked the fact of working for the  industry leader in fast-paced projects with many advancement opportunities and the ability to rotate to new functions/teams.

I really can’t think of major cons to working here! If you do a good job, you will be taken care of. If you always complain, you won’t help yourself. Yes sometimes it’s late days but not always and you need to be responsible for managing your life. Make the most of your time at work so that you can leave at a good time. This is possible here provided you have a good relationship with your management and you get stuff…

Working for L’Oréal is probably the best training you will ever get, they set you up for success for the rest of your life. You need to think quickly work hard but you will be rewarded.
